Delivery Types

We only undertake Driven/Trade plate deliveries, this means that your vehicle will be driven by a qualified and insured delivery agent on a public road. Should we be commissioned to collect a return vehicle on your behalf there will be an additional one-off cost applied to cover the Agents time & our Insurance. This is at £75.00 +VAT.

Waiting Time

Waiting time will be applied to every hour that a driver is kept waiting. Waiting time is handled in the following way. We allow 45 minutes on site before waiting time is charged. This is £20.00 per hour +VAT. If the driver has not been supplied with a vehicle within the first 45 minutes, we will contact you to advise.

Our Drivers

All drivers are handpicked and trained in person and work on a freelance basis; all undergo a high level of compliance including regular licence checks.

Delivery and Collection of Electric Vehicles

All vehicles must have a minimum of 90% charge when we arrive to collect the vehicle. Should the vehicle need charging on route customers may be charged the waiting time fee as listed above. The cost of the charge itself is treated in the same manner as fuel and is fully rechargeable and will be included on your invoice, proof of our cost can be provided on request. Please note that some vehicles/ journeys may require multiple charges, and the vehicle may have additional miles added should the driver need to go off route to find a suitable charging point. All fuel is rechargeable and will be added to your invoice.

Damage in Transit

Like most trade policies, our insurance does not cover punctures, glass damage or damage from road debris or stone chips incurred on the driven delivery, so in turn City Vehicle Contracts Limited do does not cover this either. This is viewed to be no fault of ours as the damage would occur whoever was in charge of the vehicle.

Collection and Delivery Reports

When you instruct us to move a vehicle, we also make a record of the exterior condition on a handwritten Vehicle Condition Report (VCR) which both parties’ sign. All our drivers are trained to report on a vehicles cosmetic condition. If our driver has misreported on the vehicle condition report any missed defects to the vehicle’s exterior, then the responsibility will be with City Vehicle Contracts Limited.

Our drivers/appraisers will ask you to sign a vehicle condition report on delivery of the vehicle to you. Once the vehicle has been inspected and the vehicle condition report has been signed by you or by a representative of you, City Vehicle Contracts Limited will have no further liability and cannot be held liable for its condition or be responsible for any future claims as to its roadworthiness, mechanical or cosmetic condition.

If the vehicle is inspected in poor weather/light conditions, or is excessively soiled, it may not be possible to produce an accurate inspection report. This will be noted on the vehicle condition report and in these circumstances City Vehicle Contracts Limited will not be responsible for damage subsequently identified.

Rectification Charges

If it has been agreed that City Vehicle Contracts Limited has a responsibility to pay for any rectification, those charges must be supported by a bona fide invoice and be invoiced at cost price, the price must be agreed ahead of the commencement of works. On production of a bona fide invoice at cost price your invoice will be paid within 30 days.

Mechanical Condition

City Vehicle Contracts Limited cannot be held responsible for any mechanical defect encountered whilst in transit unless due to Driver negligence. Our drivers are instructed to find a safe and suitable area to pull over should the vehicle encounter a fault which in the case of a Smart Motorway will usually mean continuing to the next refuge area.

Please note vehicles cannot be driven without a valid MOT certificate. It is the customers responsibility to ensure vehicles have a valid MOT. Our cancellation policy applies to all vehicles without a valid MOT.
